Residents are encouraged to work with members of the St. Luke's-Roosevelt/Beth Israel faculty on research projects. Most of these projects are clinically oriented. Residents presenting papers at national conferences are supported and sponsored by the Department. Critical thinking is encouraged during teaching conferences, research conferences, and at the monthly Journal Club. Journal Club analysis has resulted in published letters to the editor. Multiple papers have been presented at national meetings and published in peer reviewed journals. Special recognition has been awarded by the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) to residents for their research in neuroradiology and interventional radiology. Our policy is that when the resident writes the manuscript, the resident is the first author.
