The ACGME requires "semiannual reviews" so each resident meets with the program director twice a year to fullfill this requirement.
Deming felt that the Annual review of employees was not the best way to run a business. A recent article from the Harvard Business Review suggested that more frequent "check-ins" were better for employees and the company. We are working on this for our residency program. Check-ins will be more frequent during the R1 year and modified as needed throughout the residency
