About Us

                                          About the Program
Mount Sinai St. Luke's-Mount Sinai West has a comprehensive curriculum with equal emphasis on formal teaching, informal teaching, and practical experience, with exposure to subspecialty training and research.

Dr. Nolan Kagetsu has been the program director since 2002. The four year program begins at the PGY II level (requiring a prior year of ACGME approved clinical training. Residents spend approximately half of their rotations at the Mount Sinai West site and half at the Mount Sinai St. Luke's site.

Our program is "resident oriented". This should appeal to those who learn best by doing. Residents are expected to do things (e.g. post process a perfusion CT for stroke, participate in the VIR call pool) that a fellow might do in another program. On the rotations where there are fellows (vascular interventional) we ensure that the presence of the fellow enhances the educational experience of the resident.
